Deep Loop is a Chicago collective for deep, progressive and melodic house. We're a small crew keeping a local tradition alive, one careful night at a time.
How it started
It started with a record.
Deep Loop began the way most good things in this city do: with a few friends, a borrowed sound system, and a basement that wasn't quite big enough. Nobody planned a brand. We just wanted to hear deep house the way it deserves to be heard: warm, unhurried, and loud enough to feel in your chest.
Word travels fast in a city that loves its music. The rooms got a little bigger, the record bags got a little heavier, and the intention never changed. We're still that same crew. We just take the door list a bit more seriously now.
The city that started it
House music was born in Chicago.
In the early 1980s, in the warehouses and after-hours rooms of this city, DJs stretched disco past its breaking point and something new walked out. House music didn't come from a label or a marketing plan. It came from Chicago: from the Warehouse, from the Power Plant, from DJs who played for the people who showed up.
Forty years later, the whole world dances to what started here, and a lot of those rooms are gone. We think a city that gave the world house should still have rooms where that sound is treated with care. That's the part we play. Not pioneers, just keepers of the flame, doing our small piece.

We'd rather fill a small space with people who came to listen than a big one with people who came to be seen.

This music has a history, and it started here. We honor it by knowing it and by playing it properly.
